Preface Sometimes it seems that I walk in the words of the Quran — like an old path, on which everyone passes, but no one bends down to see the footprints of the earth. I look. I pause and listen to the breath hidden in each word. I felt that the Quran was not just sent down to be read, but to be felt. And in the midst of these feelings, I discovered some things that gave me a new light… I realized that the Quran is a silent ocean, which is calm on the outside but has such depths inside that the soul trembles. When I began to unravel its words, I felt that in each verse there is a shining secret hidden, a small riddle that can only be seen with the eye of the heart. I spent my days and nights searching for these riddles. And one day the Quran began to reveal its secrets to me.

مقدمہ کبھی کبھی لگتا ہے کہ میں قرآن کے لفظوں میں چلتی ہوں — جیسے کوئی پرانا راستہ، جس پر سب گزرتے تو ہیں مگر کوئی نیچے جھک کر زمین کے نقش نہیں دیکھتا۔ میں دیکھتی ہوں۔ میں رک رک کر ہر لفظ میں چھپی سانس سنتی ہوں۔ میں نے محسوس کیا کہ قرآن صرف پڑھنے کے لیے نہیں، محسوس کرنے کے لیے اترا ہے۔ اور انہی محسوسات کے بیچ، میں نے کچھ ایسی باتیں دریافت کیں جنہوں نے مجھے ایک نئی روشنی دی۔۔۔ میں نے جانا کہ قرآن ایک خاموش سمندر ہے، جو باہر سے پرسکون ہے مگر اندر اتنی گہرائیاں ہیں کہ روح کانپ جاتی ہے۔ میں نے جب اس کے لفظوں کو کھولنا شروع کیا تو محسوس ہوا کہ ہر آیت میں کوئی چمکتا ہوا راز چھپا ہے، کوئی چھوٹی سی پہیلی جو صرف دل کی آنکھ سے ہی دیکھی جا سکتی ہے۔ میں نے اپنے دن رات ان پہیلیوں کی تلاش میں گزار دیے۔ اور ایک دن قرآن نے اپنے راز میرے سامنے کھولنے شروع کیے۔
